Campaign Analytics

Track campaign performance with views, clicks, and engagement metrics.

Last updated: Feb 10, 2025

Monitor how your campaigns perform with built-in analytics. Track views, clicks, and engagement to optimize your email signature marketing.

Campaign Metrics

Each campaign tracks:

  • Views: How many times the banner was displayed
  • Clicks: How many times recipients clicked
  • Click-through Rate (CTR): Percentage of views that resulted in clicks
  • Unique Clicks: Distinct recipients who clicked

Viewing Campaign Stats

In the Campaign List

The Campaigns page shows quick stats:

  • View count badge on each campaign card
  • Click count next to views
  • Visual indicator of performance

In Campaign Details

Click on a campaign to see detailed analytics:

  1. Open the campaign
  2. Scroll to the Analytics section
  3. View the full performance breakdown

In the Analytics Dashboard

For organization-wide campaign data:

  1. Go to Analytics in the sidebar
  2. Find the Top Campaigns table
  3. Compare all campaigns at once

Understanding the Data

Views

A view is counted when:

  • An email containing the campaign is opened
  • The tracking pixel loads successfully
  • The recipient's email client allows images

Some email clients block images by default. This means actual views may be higher than reported.

Clicks

A click is counted when:

  • A recipient clicks the campaign banner
  • The click passes through our tracking redirect
  • The destination URL loads

Click-through Rate (CTR)

CTR = (Clicks / Views) x 100

Benchmarks:

  • Below 0.5%: Consider redesigning
  • 0.5% - 1%: Average performance
  • Above 1%: Strong performance

Time-Based Analysis

View performance over time:

  1. Open the campaign analytics
  2. Use the date range picker
  3. Compare periods to spot trends

Exporting Campaign Data

Download campaign statistics for reporting:

Export Steps

  1. Go to the campaign you want to export
  2. Click Export Statistics
  3. Choose format (CSV or PDF)
  4. Download the file

Export Contents

The export includes:

  • Daily view and click counts
  • Cumulative totals
  • CTR calculations
  • Date range covered

Comparing Campaigns

Side-by-Side Comparison

In the Analytics dashboard:

  1. Go to Analytics
  2. View the Top Campaigns table
  3. Sort by views, clicks, or CTR

What to Compare

  • Similar campaigns: A/B test different designs
  • Different time periods: Seasonal performance
  • Different audiences: Group-based targeting

Optimizing Based on Data

Low Views

If views are low:

  • Campaign may not be assigned to enough signatures
  • Check assignment rules
  • Verify the campaign is active

Low Clicks

If clicks are low despite good views:

  • Banner design may not be compelling
  • Call-to-action may be unclear
  • Link destination may not match expectations

Improving CTR

To increase click-through rate:

  1. Clearer CTA: Make the action obvious
  2. Better design: More attention-grabbing banner
  3. Relevant messaging: Match audience interests
  4. Compelling offer: Give reasons to click

Campaign A/B Testing

Test different approaches:

How to A/B Test

  1. Create two similar campaigns with one difference
  2. Assign each to different groups (similar size)
  3. Run for the same period
  4. Compare results

What to Test

  • Headlines: Different messaging approaches
  • Colors: Brand vs. high-contrast
  • CTA text: "Learn More" vs. "Get Started"
  • Images: Product vs. lifestyle
  • Offers: Percentage off vs. dollar amount

Tracking Accuracy

Factors Affecting Accuracy

Views may be undercounted when:

  • Images are blocked by email clients
  • Recipients use privacy-focused settings
  • Emails are read in preview mode without full loading

Clicks are highly accurate:

  • Every click passes through our redirect
  • We capture click data before redirecting

Best Practices for Accurate Tracking

  1. Encourage recipients to allow images from your domain
  2. Use HTTPS for all campaign links
  3. Monitor trends rather than absolute numbers
  4. Compare campaigns against each other

Campaign Lifecycle

Active Campaign Tracking

While a campaign is active:

  • Data updates in near real-time
  • Views and clicks accumulate
  • Analytics are always current

Inactive Campaign Data

When you deactivate a campaign:

  • Historical data is preserved
  • No new views or clicks recorded
  • You can still view past performance

Deleted Campaign Data

When you delete a campaign:

  • All tracking data is removed
  • Export data before deleting if needed
