Using Template Blocks

Master the building blocks of Signkit templates: logos, text, social links, and campaign banners.

Template blocks are the building units of Signkit signatures. Each block represents a piece of content that you can add, configure, and arrange.

Available Blocks

Logo Block

Displays your company logo or user photo.

Settings:

  • Image source (upload or URL)
  • Width and height
  • Alignment (left, center, right)
  • Link URL (optional)
  • Alt text

Best Practices:

  • Use PNG with transparency
  • Keep width between 100-200px
  • Always include alt text

Name Block

Displays the user's full name.

Settings:

  • Font size (typically 14-18px)
  • Font weight (normal, semibold, bold)
  • Text color
  • Link to profile (optional)

Title Block

Shows the user's job title or role.

Settings:

  • Font size (typically 12-14px)
  • Font weight
  • Text color
  • Custom prefix (e.g., "Role: ")

Contact Block

Combines multiple contact methods in one block.

Includes:

  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Website URL
  • Physical address

Settings:

  • Which fields to show
  • Order of fields
  • Separator style (new line, pipe, bullet)
  • Icon display (on/off)

Displays social media profile links as icons.

Settings:

  • Icon style (color, monochrome, outlined)
  • Icon size (16px, 20px, 24px)
  • Spacing between icons
  • Order of platforms

Divider Block

Creates visual separation between sections.

Settings:

  • Style (line, dots, space)
  • Color
  • Width (full, partial)
  • Margin (spacing above/below)

Campaign Block

Placeholder for promotional banners.

Settings:

  • Position (top, bottom, inline)
  • Fallback behavior (hide or show default)
  • Link tracking

Campaign content is controlled separately in the Campaigns section. The block defines where it appears.

Custom HTML Block

For advanced users who need specific elements.

Settings:

  • Raw HTML input
  • Preview mode
  • Sanitization level

Custom HTML may not render consistently across all email clients. Test thoroughly.

Arranging Blocks

Drag and Drop

Reorder blocks by dragging them in the editor:

  1. Click and hold a block
  2. Drag to the new position
  3. Release to drop

Block Groups

Group related blocks together:

  1. Select multiple blocks
  2. Click Group
  3. Move the group as a unit

Columns

Create side-by-side layouts:

  1. Add a Column container
  2. Choose column count (2 or 3)
  3. Drag blocks into each column

Block Visibility

Control when blocks appear:

Always Visible

Block displays for all users.

Conditional

Block only shows when a field has a value:

  • Phone block hides if no phone number
  • Social links hide if not configured
  • Title hides if empty

User Override

Let users choose to hide certain blocks in their signature.

Block Inheritance

When you update a block in a template:

  • All signatures using that template update
  • User-specific data remains unchanged
  • Style changes apply globally

Troubleshooting Blocks

Block Not Appearing

  1. Check if the required data field is populated
  2. Verify visibility settings
  3. Preview with test data

Block Alignment Issues

  1. Check parent container alignment
  2. Remove conflicting width settings
  3. Test in email client preview

Icons Not Loading

  1. Verify icon set is selected
  2. Check for custom icon URL issues
  3. Use default icon set
